To begin, you'll need access to both Figma and Wix Studio. Follow these steps to install the plugin and start the design transfer process:
Install the Plugin
Open the Figma Community page or your chosen Figma file, then search for "Figma to Wix Studio" under the Plugins panel (Shift + I). Install the plugin and open it.
Get Started
Once the plugin is installed, you'll see a panel with instructions. Click Get Started, copy the URL of the Figma file you want to export, and move to Wix Studio.
Open Studio Editor
Create a new project or open an existing site in the Wix Studio Editor. In the top bar, hover over the Studio logo and click on Tools > Import from Figma.
Paste the URL
In the Import from Figma panel on the left sidebar, paste the copied URL from Figma and click Connect. Complete the authorization process to establish the connection.
For best results, always start by exporting styles. This ensures consistency across your website by transferring typography, colors, and design elements exactly as you intended.
Select Styles to Export
Highlight the frames containing typography and colors. In the Figma plugin panel, check that the styles have been correctly identified and click Export Styles.
Import Styles in Wix Studio
Once in Wix Studio, go to the Themes panel, where you'll find your imported typography and color settings. Click Apply Styles to Site to implement them across your project.
After exporting styles, you can now export frames.
Select the Frame
Choose the frame you want to export. The plugin will display the frame's size, and depending on its dimensions, it will either be imported as a page, section, container, or stack.
Add to Site
In the Import from Figma panel in Wix Studio, select the frame and click Add to Site. Use the dropdown options to add it as a Section, Page, or Container.
Optimize Layout
For complex layouts, use auto layout in Figma to stack elements in either vertical or horizontal order. This ensures that elements retain their spacing when imported into Wix Studio, and are identified as a Stack.
Images
When a frame containing images is exported from Figma, the images will appear exactly as designed in Wix Studio. They will also be added to your site's Media Manager for future use.
SVGs
SVGs (scalable vector graphics) are automatically detected and imported into Wix Studio if they are under 250KB. Larger SVGs will need to be resized in Figma before exporting.
Now that your designs are imported, it’s time to fine-tune them:
Responsiveness
Adjust your site’s behavior using the Responsive AI tool, or manually configure the responsive layout.
Animations & Effects
Use the built-in animation and effects tools to add movement and interactivity to your site.
Native Solutions
Take advantage of Wix’s native solutions for eCommerce, Bookings, Restaurants, and more to bring your site to life.
CMS Integration
Connect your site to the Wix CMS to dynamically update content without affecting your design.
